Fabulous line-up rock bands including Secret, Boxer and Six Senses from are now preparing to delight fans with spectacular performances on February 14 to mark the 6th birthday of a recording company Valentine Music.

 

The free concert will kick off two nights on 12 and 13 February at the parking lot of Lao-ITECC, and feature their latest and greatest artists as well as some pop favourites, such as Lady, Touly, Phim and other artists who are in their latest album titled the Family 2. alt

 

The Director of Valentine Music, Mr Phoutthachanh Paphasala said, “This is a great opportunity for us to draw together old and new singers, and there will also be some special surprises for concertgoers on the day.”

 

“This concert will not so big like last year, because we are currently very busy recording albums for some of our new artists, and working on a music contest that we plan to hold soon. Also a number of artists are busy with their exams and don’t have the time for rehearsals,” explained Mr Phoutthachanh.

 

 The Valentine Music was founded in 2003 as they have produced many successful albums by Lao artists, and greatly expanded the repertoire and diversity of our music scene such as Ting Phailavanh, LD Sky, Tee Oudalay, Touy Chanphaxai, Apact and Unicorn.

 

During the past six years of hard work they have also been involved in many social activities, including holding many concerts to support campaign on education health awareness among young people.

 

Apart from these concerts the Valentine Music also cooperate with the Lao Telecommunication hold concerts and activities at the Talat Sao Shopping Mall regularly each month.

 

Last year they’ve been produced quality albums such as y Ms Bidalak Si-akkhaphom, also known as Touly, and the album, packed with pop-dance hits, is shaking up the local entertainment scene.

 

Ting Phailavanh who has success from her second album The Real Me, including the song My Boy and her emotional ballad Vao Ma Pheua Yang (Why did you say that to me?).

 

Ting Phailavanh received Best Female Singer Award and the all girl band Secret received Group Artist Award and Bidalak Si-akkhaphom received Best New Artist Award at the Lao Music Awards last year which can prove their singing talent.

The lead singer of a well known pop band Overdance, Ms Manila Souvanuan aka Kai get married with white-pink theme party at Cosmo Hotel on Saturday.

 

The glamorous wed gala was attended by almost 2,000 friends, family members and stars, singers, dancers and other people who work front and behind the Laos entertainment section. alt

 

                  

Kai said yesterday that the wed gala on Saturday was my fantastic night with full house of guest and she said that she would never for get bout it.

 

“I and Youtthasone has plan soon to honeymoon in Japan to visit his cousin there and stay there about a week travelling beach and other attraction sites in some well known cities in Japan,” Kai said.

 

“The reason that we decided to honeymoon in Japan because his cousin in Japan want us to visit them since my husband has just back from them since he’s study for many years in Japan,” she said.

 

Kai said that she would love to have whatever son or daughter but she’s now don’t have any plan yet to get a baby because she got a lot of work to do since she has break for a month to preparing for her wedding party.

 

Other reason she wants to keep contributing her performance for society and tours since she’s now preparing to release her latest album soon this month and she said with sure that she will do the best to serve the audience like she did before.

 

She said that her latest album will feature in pop-dance tune but the music reflect growing up of band member and will combine other tune like jazz and classic which will tell the listener that we has step up from that old album that reflect only pop and young people.

 

Overdance is consisting of five members Jeng, Ek, Ard, Tui and Kai. The band was form in 2001 they are the first Lao pop band, with their first album titled Revolution with the funny hip hop song Mr Hinsom that explode the Lao pop music scene and became the biggest selling Lao album of the Indee Records.

 

Many of their fans complain while there’s so long gap between the first and the second album because the group have been keeping busy with live performances around the countries and many projects.

 

Filtering contemporary R&B and dance music through Lao culture, Overdance’s energetic live shows have won many fans and the group have been promoting positive role models for Lao teenagers through their involvement with the many NGOs.

 

The band was also recently performing their latest song with spectacular opening at the live concert at Laos ITECC last week with international artist Sean Kingston to celebrate the second year of the telecommunication company Millicom Lao Co Ltd aka Tigo.

Thousands of audience members danced and cheered together when internationally renowned singer Sean Kingston performed at Lao-ITECC in Vientiane on Sunday.

The concert was a special event organised by telecommunication company Millicom Lao Co Ltd, commonly known as Tigo, to celebrate the company’s second anniversary and was co-hosted by the Lao Brewery Company and M-Point Mart.  Sean Kingston at Watai Airport

Those who attended the concert were delighted to see Sean Kingston on stage alongside DJ Kelo amidst a fantastic light and stage show.

The singer performed his hit songs Beautiful Girls, Me Love, and Take You There as well as other new songs from his latest album that is set to be released later this month.

The audience was treated to an impressive line-up of local artists, with LOG, Idols, The Cells, TempleGuys, A’pact, Aluna and Nalin supporting the international headline act and rock band Uluvus closing the show. 

The concert made the police harder to work and control the traffic because audience flocked from many part of Laos and neighboring countries. 

Sean Kingston gave a press conference last Friday and said he was excited to be performing in Laos and had prepared a special show for the audience to enjoy and dance along to.

He said his unique style of music appealed to a wide range of people because it blended many musical styles such as rap, reggae, pop and doo-wop with simple beats, and was easy to listen and sing along to.

He said his latest album was already finished and would soon be released. He hopes his fans all around talthe world, especially in Laos

, will enjoy the new songs and collaborations with well-known singer and producers. 

Last Friday, 25 fans who won a Tigo promotion had the chance to have their photo taken with Sean Kingston and he departed Laos yesterday.

According to press release, the singer was born in Miami, Florida, and raised predominantly in Kingston, Jamaica, after moving there at the age of six.

He has a musical bloodline that includes Jamaican legendary producer Jack Ruby as his grandfather. It was no wonder he was able to introduce a new genre that combined rap, reggae, pop, doo-wop and remarkable song writing into a refreshing new sound.

Kingston, through a venture between Epic Records and Koch Records, released the single Beautiful Girls in the summer of 2007.

The song debuted at number one in Australia; where it knocked off the artist Fergie who had held the number one spot for nine consecutive weeks. The song also stayed in the number one spot on Canada’s Hot 100 for over six weeks.alt

Sean Kingston has sold more than three million digital singles, more than three million ringtones and has toured with artists such as Gwen Stefani, Chris Brown and Kelly Clarkson.
